Cutting Tool Sales Engineer 

Tungaloy-NTK America, Inc. is an emerging leader in the development and distribution of innovative carbide cutting tools.  We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in machining and cutting tool sales and applications.  The ideal candidate should have a strong account following already in these markets.  The person will represent the company in the territory that has been assigned, and ideally the candidate will live in this region, but other locations can be considered for the right person. Tungaloy-NTK America, Inc. offers a competitive salary, progressive commission and bonus program, generous benefits package, company auto and travel expenses.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work directly with end users and distributors to achieve product sales goals.
  • Provide technical service to identify customer needs, define problems, and recommend solutions while providing service after the sale.
  • Prepare and provide test data reports
  • Provide ongoing distributor training, new product updates, tool demonstrations, and promotions to distribution channel.
  • Submit sales and progress reports to Divisional/Regional Management

 Work Experience and Skills:

  • BS or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in carbide and ceramic cutting tool sales to the metal working industry
  • Hands-on manufacturing knowledge specifically in the operation of CNC machine tools, programming and materials knowledge
  • Knowledge of the distributor role in stocking, promoting, and selling the company’s products within the territory
  • Excellent time management, organization, communication, and verbal skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Pricing and Quotation Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to support special pricing projects, vendor coordination, and internal data management.

Job Overview:

This role works within the pricing and logistics team, in the Arlington Heights, IL office, communicating closely with multiple departments to maintain accurate pricing data and support purchasing and quoting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure customer quote information files are kept up to date and accurate
  • Request updated costs from vendors to meet quote timelines on price updates
  • Follow up and track timely receipt of all cost requests
  • Calculate updated prices from cost receipts, paying critical attention to accuracy and completeness with large volumes of products and communications
  • Upload price data into pricing system
  • Communicate to internal customers for approval of updated pricing, follow up as needed to ensure deadlines are met, and upon approval, publish updated pricing
  • Master the complexities of the communication network and supporting all customer both internal and external
  • Develop an understanding of product and pricing structures, key vendors, key product categories, and business cycles
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues in establishing account prices in collaboration with staff in Operations and Sales
  • Maintain files available to internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain an awareness of the pricing plan objectives and ensure all activities drive toward achieving those objectives
  • Additional tasks and projects, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3-5 years of analytical work and large volume data management, with price file management a plus
    • Purchasing and/or distribution background a plus
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in business or finance preferred
    • If no degree, or Associate’s degree, then 5+ years of equivalent and directly relevant work experience
  • Skills:
    • Strong data management skills handling large volumes of data
    • Outstanding communication and organizational skills managing large volumes of emailed communications
    • Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
    • High degree of proficiency in intermediate/advanced level of Excel; ability to perform formulas, v-lookup, pivot tables, etc
    • Ability to perform mark-up / margin calculations, formulas and basic math functions
    • Demonstrate project leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives
    • Self-starter and creative problem solver with ability to work both independently and within a team
    • Results driven, with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment

Application Engineer - Arlington Heights, IL

Company Overview:

Tungaloy-NTK America is an emerging leader in the development and distribution of innovative carbide cutting tools.  Our Company is looking at expanding the Engineering department. We are seeking individuals with knowledge and experience in the CNC machining industry for an Application Engineer position in our Arlington Heights, IL office. If you are currently a Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Programmer, Machinist or have previous hands-on machining and CNC programming experience, we would be very interested in speaking with you!

In this technical position the applicant will be responsible for offering technical support to end-users and distributors to improve their machining productivity and tool performance. We offer a competitive salary and generous benefits package.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cutting tools.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining.
  • Knowledge in part processing, metal cutting, CNC programming, reading drawings, and machine setup.
  • Basic understanding of metallurgy.
  • Ability to review and read technical documents and blueprints.
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support on cutting tools.
  • Working on tooling proposals, time study creation, programming parts to showcase tool path suggestions.
  • Coordinate with Product Engineering and Sales Department to support the customer request.
  • Assist customers in developing product solutions including tailor made solutions.
  • Planning, programming, and executing demonstrations on the machine.
  • Creating and managing tailor made specials.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum level of education: Associate degree or Technical Training.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in machining.

Preferred Skills:

  • CNC programming / CAD experience in the following preferred: Mastercam, & Fusion 360.
  • CNC operating experience in the following preferred: HAAS Mill, Mazak Lathe, & Citizen Swiss Machine.

Salary Range $65k – 77k
