Cutting Tool Sales Engineer 

Tungaloy-NTK America, Inc. is an emerging leader in the development and distribution of innovative carbide cutting tools.  We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in machining and cutting tool sales and applications.  The ideal candidate should have a strong account following already in these markets.  The person will represent the company in the territory that has been assigned, and ideally the candidate will live in this region, but other locations can be considered for the right person. Tungaloy-NTK America, Inc. offers a competitive salary, progressive commission and bonus program, generous benefits package, company auto and travel expenses.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work directly with end users and distributors to achieve product sales goals.
  • Provide technical service to identify customer needs, define problems, and recommend solutions while providing service after the sale.
  • Prepare and provide test data reports
  • Provide ongoing distributor training, new product updates, tool demonstrations, and promotions to distribution channel.
  • Submit sales and progress reports to Divisional/Regional Management

 Work Experience and Skills:

  • BS or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in carbide and ceramic cutting tool sales to the metal working industry
  • Hands-on manufacturing knowledge specifically in the operation of CNC machine tools, programming and materials knowledge
  • Knowledge of the distributor role in stocking, promoting, and selling the company’s products within the territory
  • Excellent time management, organization, communication, and verbal skills

Regional Manager - Midwest Region

As part of our continued expansion, we are looking for an experienced Regional Manager to oversee and drive sales, customer relations, and operational excellence within the Midwest region.

Job Overview:

The Regional Manager for the Midwest Region will lead all sales and business development activities across Tungaloy America’s cutting tools product lines. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales leadership, business strategy, and team management within the industrial manufacturing or cutting tools sector. This individual will be responsible for driving regional growth, managing key customer relationships, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Lead the sales efforts across the Midwest region to increase market share and achieve sales targets.
    • Develop and implement regional sales strategies to drive revenue growth within the cutting tools sector.
    • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers, ensuring that Tungaloy’s products meet client needs and expectations.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of sales engineers and manufacturer representatives.
    • Provide coaching and guidance to improve team performance and professional growth.
    • Ensure alignment of the sales team’s goals with the overall business objectives of Tungaloy-NTK America.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in a regional sales or management role within the industrial manufacturing sector (cutting tools or machining-related industry preferred).
    • Proven track record of success in sales growth, team leadership, and managing large geographical regions.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • In-depth understanding of cutting tools products, applications, and market trends.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret sales data, forecasts, and operational reports.
    • Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Other:
    • Willingness to travel extensively within the Midwest region (50-75% of the time).
    • Knowledge of local industrial and manufacturing operations and business culture within the region.

Application Engineer - Arlington Heights, IL

Company Overview:

Tungaloy-NTK America is an emerging leader in the development and distribution of innovative carbide cutting tools.  Our Company is looking at expanding the Engineering department. We are seeking individuals with knowledge and experience in the CNC machining industry for an Application Engineer position in our Arlington Heights, IL office. If you are currently a Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Programmer, Machinist or have previous hands-on machining and CNC programming experience, we would be very interested in speaking with you!

In this technical position the applicant will be responsible for offering technical support to end-users and distributors to improve their machining productivity and tool performance. We offer a competitive salary and generous benefits package.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cutting tools.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining.
  • Knowledge in part processing, metal cutting, CNC programming, reading drawings, and machine setup.
  • Basic understanding of metallurgy.

Preferred Skills:

  • CNC programming / CAD experience in the following preferred: Mastercam, & Fusion 360.
  • CNC operating experience in the following preferred: HAAS Mill, Mazak Lathe, & Citizen Swiss Machine.

Product Manager

Company Overview:

We provide state of the art cutting tool solutions for machining to all industries including Automobiles, Aerospace, Die-Mold, Medical, Oil and Gas, Power generation etc. We are seeking a candidate for our open position of Product Manager. This role includes controlling the phase in – phase out of products, communicating with parent company for product development by providing market information, competitor information and customer requirements. It would be important to develop a strong knowledge on the product offering to provide daily technical support to all Tungaloy-NTK representatives, customers, and distributors. Working knowledge of carbide cutting tools and knowledge of machining and G codes is a must. Should have the ability to effectively communicate with Tungaloy-NTK employees and customers and the ability to interact with various types of people at different knowledge levels relating to Tungaloy-NTK product. This role requires travelling to visit end users for managing projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Constantly finding gaps in the product offering based on market requirement, competitor offering and failed results.
  • Forecasting stock and budgeting target sales for new products.
  • Deciding the appropriateness of a newly launched product for the American market and planning the introduction.
  • Launching of new products- including go-to-market strategy, application strategy.
  • Work on offering solutions to end users to eliminate, combine or simplify tooling process to improve productivity
  • Provide technical support to all customers, distributors, and Tungaloy-NTK employees. Support includes – but not limited to – troubleshooting problems, product grades, and determining what tooling solutions are best suited for specific applications. Organizing training sessions and improving awareness of the product is a key aspect.
  • Testing products at end users and in tech center to define the application zone.
  • Travel to customers, distributors, and Tungaloy-NTK sales personnel’s location to observe the application and to provide on-site technical support.
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations for training purposes and presentation.

Work Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering or equivalent experience in the carbide cutting tool industry.
  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understanding of tolerances, finish requirements.
  • Prior experience working as a manufacturing engineer would be an added advantage.
  • Programming knowledge using any CAM software would be an added advantage.
  • Exhibit mathematical skills to carry out functions of the job.
  • Ability to identify cutting tool problems.

Field Product Specialist - Ohio Valley & Michigan Region

The ideal candidate should be interested in working with end-users and territory sales engineers to close projects using technical experience and expanded product knowledge.

The person will represent the company in the territory that has been assigned territory and ideally, the candidate will live in this region, but other locations can be considered for the right person.
