Iwaki, December 2023— Tungaloy has added 32 new NS9530 uncoated cermet grade inserts to its TetraMiniCut groove turning tool series, expanding the TCG18 insert line.
TetraMiniCut’s unique insert design offers four cutting edges, making the tool an economical option for parting, grooving, and threading. The tool’s innovative three-point clamping method ensures superior insert stability during machining, coupled with precise repeatability of the cutting-edge position with every new indexing. Four insert styles are available with chipbreakers to generate light cutting action: TCG and TCP inserts feature ground-to-form chipbreaker, while TCS and TCL inserts offer pressed-in style, all to ensure optimal performance in all workpiece materials.
NS9530 cermet grade insert features the cutting edge surface with an enhanced fracture toughness that is achieved by improved surface post-treatment technology. This provides the grade with an excellent balance of wear and fracture resistance. Furthermore, the insert surface is smoothed out significantly, contributing to built-up resistance and excellent surface finishing performance.
