Tungaloy Corporation (President: Satoshi Kinoshita, Headquarters: Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture) announces the addition of high-precision X-class inserts for its multi-functional “TCB” counterboring tools.
Overview
“TCB” is an indexable multifunctional counterboring tool line suitable for a variety of machines from traditional lathes to the latest CNC machining centers. The tool bodies are available in a wide range of diameters, from ø10 to ø59mm (.394 inches to 2.323 inches), making them ideal for operations such as counterboring for cap bolts and internal diameter expanding. The ø26 to ø59mm tool bodies feature a cartridge system that allows for fine diameter adjustments in 0.1mm (.004 inches) increments by placing the adjusting shim plates.
The dimensional accuracy of X-class inserts is within ±0.04mm, which improves the variation in tool diameter when replacing inserts compared to conventional products. The CG-type chipbreaker, which has been used in existed insert line, continues to deliver excellent chip control performance across various machining operations. The inserts are available in the latest „AH6225“ grade, which combines a high-hardness titanium-rich PVD coating with a dedicated substrate that offers excellent thermal conductivity and toughness, ensuring high reliability.
With the addition of these high-precision X-Grade inserts, the “TCB” counterboring tools can now be applied to semi-finish machining operations, contributing to improved productivity across a broader range of workpieces.
