TungMeister Head-Changeable End Mill System Expands Integrated ER Collet Shank Lineup with New ER32 Size — Integrated design with coolant holes improves machining reliability for lathes and multitasking machines —

Iwaki, Japan – June, 2026 – Tungaloy Corporation (President: Satoshi Kinoshita, Head Office: Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture) announces the addition of an ER32 size to its lineup of integrated ER collet shanks for the TungMeister indexable end mill system. This new lineup helps suppress chatter and improve tool reliability in lathe and multitasking machine applications.

Challenges and Trends

In lathe and multitasking machine applications, ER32 collet chucks are widely used. In these machines, tool overhang tends to be long, which can lead to reduced machining accuracy and hinder productivity due to chatter. In addition, under insufficient coolant supply conditions, there is a higher risk of tool damage caused by chip entanglement, making it essential to ensure tool reliability for stable continuous machining.

Product Overview

TungMeister is a head-changeable end mill series designed to deliver high-precision and high-efficiency machining. The lineup includes more than 45 head geometries and a wide range of grades, covering tool diameters from 5 mm to 32 mm. With over 13,000 possible combinations of heads and shanks, it supports a broad spectrum of machining applications. The system allows for easy tool changes with excellent repeatability, reducing setup time while maintaining stable cutting performance.
The shank lineup also offers a variety of configurations, including Tungaloy’s proprietary integrated ER collet shank. By integrating the ER collet and shank into a single structure, it achieves higher tool rigidity compared to conventional setups where an end mill is clamped using a standard collet chuck. Previously available in ER11, ER16, ER20, and ER25 sizes, the lineup is now expanded to include the new ER32 size.

Benefits and Features

Feature 1: High Rigidity and Wide Machining Range with Integrated ER Collet Design

– The integrated structure of the ER collet and shank minimizes deflection at the clamping interface, delivering high tool rigidity. This enables a wide range of machining conditions, from heavy-duty cutting to high-precision finishing.
– Lineup includes items with significantly reduced overhang length, effectively suppressing chatter and greatly expanding the machining range.

Feature 2: Stable Machining through Optimized Overhang Length

– Coolant is supplied close to the cutting edge, preventing chip entanglement. This reduces the risk of sudden tool failure and ensures reliable performance during continuous machining.
– Improved cooling and lubrication enhance cutting stability, enabling consistent performance even in difficult-to-cut materials.
