Iwaki, April 2023— Tungaloy has announced the expansion of MillQuadFeed 09-size high feed milling cutter line by adding 42 and 66 millimeter diameter cutters.
MillQuadFeed high feed milling cutters incorporate single-sided inserts with four cutting edges. The standard insert line includes Size 09 and 15 inserts in a variety of grades, making them suitable for most material groups. The cutter bodies are available in a diameter range from 22 millimeters to 160 millimeters allowing shops to pick the best cutter body size for the machine tools and cutting conditions they are using. In addition, the inserts come in two geometric options: ZER inserts have a versatile geometry, enabling greater depths of cut and free cutting action. While UER inserts feature a smaller entry angle, providing chip thinning effect, which makes the inserts suitable for high feed machining of exotic materials. This axial chip thinning contributes to not only the longevity of insert tool life particularly in exotic materials but also improved chatter control and tool stability during high feed milling with long overhang tool setup. Furthermore, since these two styles of inserts are interchangeable on the same cutter, shops can reduce tooling inventory.
MillQuadFeed is now offering two additional Size 09 shell mill, or bore type, cutter bodies: TXSW09M042B16.0R05 in 42 millimeter (1.654 inch) diameter and TXSW09M066B27.0R06 in 66 millimeter (2.60 inch) diameter.
