Achieving High-Efficiency Machining with Reduced Vibration Even at Long Overhang
Iwaki, Japan, June 24, 2024 – Tungaloy Corporation (President: Satoshi Kinoshita, Headquarters: Iwaki, Fukushima) announces the addition of anti-vibration milling cutter holders to its ISO 26623-1 compatible polygonal coupling tooling series, TungCap.

The TungCap series is an ISO 26623-1 compatible polygonal coupling tooling system that ensures high clamping rigidity through dual-contact at the taper and flange face. The series covers sizes from C3 to C8 and includes a wide range of holders for turning tools to rotating tool holders such as collet chucks.
The newly added long overhang milling cutter holders, designated as AV C#-SEM, feature an original “Tuned-mass Damper” mechanism designed to suppress vibration caused by cutting forces. This enables high-efficiency machining with reduced chatter, even at long overhang with L/D ratios of up to 5.
The AV C#-SEM holders are available in sizes C5 and C6, with pilot diameters of 22 mm (.866”) and 27 mm (1.063”), and overhang lengths ranging from 220 mm to 310 mm (8.661” to 12.205”)
With the addition of these anti-vibration holders, TungCap series now enables high-efficiency milling with reduced vibration, even in applications requiring long overhang. This contributes significantly to productivity improvements for a wide range of customers.
